The launch now turns it into a delivery point whose capacity, customers, and utilization can be monitored.

A project moves from financing and construction toward launch

NVIDIA says Firebird has launched its AI Factory in Armenia and calls it the largest such facility in the CIS region. Dell Technologies disclosed in 2025 that Firebird planned a $500 million investment in Armenia, with Dell supplying PowerEdge AI servers and NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs; the first phase was then expected in the first half of 2026. Ameriabank later confirmed $60 million in construction financing. The latest launch statement is a public transition from plans and inputs toward operations.

Local compute depends on coordinated power and delivery

Armenia’s Ministry of High-Tech Industry described first-phase targets of more than 6,000 NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs, 18MW of capacity, and up to 110.6 exaflops of FP4 Tensor performance. It also outlined a possible second phase involving roughly $4 billion of investment and additional GPUs. These targets frame the site as more than colocation: it combines GPU supply, power, server integration, and cloud delivery into a regional compute node. Its commercial logic depends on reducing time, network, and compliance friction for nearby users seeking advanced compute.

A launch does not yet verify delivered capacity

The strongest reservation is that Armenia’s prime minister’s office still described the center as under construction in June and discussed equipment installation and supporting infrastructure. That does not independently verify that the launch has reached planned GPU counts, full capacity, or broad external service. The announcement confirms project progression, not that every planned specification and utilization level has been achieved. If the first phase is delivered, regional cloud providers will compete more directly to supply advanced GPU capacity locally.

What to watch next

Evidence to watch includes Firebird disclosures of online GPU counts, purchasable instances, and customers; confirmation of equipment delivery and grid capacity from Dell or local authorities; and independent data-center information on 18MW power availability and service uptime. Evidence matching first-phase targets would strengthen the case that the project has become an operational regional compute hub; persistent gaps in delivery, interconnection, or commercial-service disclosures would weaken it.
